Tobruk House was recently honoured with a visit from a long term admirer of the Rats of Tobruk.

In late February the Association had the honour of hosting Dame Quentin Bryce for afternoon tea at Tobruk House.

Dame Quentin has been a longstanding supporter of the Rats of Tobruk Association since her time as Governor General of Australia between 2008 and 2014.

Committee members Lachlan Gaylard and Paul Dipnall, alongside Lambis Englezos AM, his wife Suzanne, and veteran Bob McDowell spent several hours discussing the importance of remembrance and their individual connections with our veterans.

Dame Quentin remembered fondly her previous visits to Tobruk House and her close association with Bob Semple in particular. She noted how splendid the Hall was looking and was very pleased to hear of the association’s goals for the future.
